Extended possession dates on MahaRERA

An extended possession date means the developer has registered a later completion date with MahaRERA than the one it gave when the project was first registered. FlatNama shows the current date, how many months it was extended by and the original date, for example "Extended by 12 months (originally June 2026)".

Why dates are extended

Under the RERA Act, MahaRERA can extend a registration when the developer applies, for reasons such as events beyond its control, ordinarily for up to one year at a time. In 2020, MahaRERA also extended dates for many projects because of COVID-19.

How FlatNama shows it

Every project page shows the registered possession date, whether it has changed since registration, and by how much. The comparison table shows how many similar projects in the same PIN code have also had their dates extended. FlatNama does not judge whether an extension is reasonable.

What to check

Compare the possession date in your agreement with the one registered on MahaRERA. If they differ, ask the developer which date applies to your flat, and get it in writing.
